Terms of Service

By using Budget by Dunit, you agree to these terms. They're written to be readable — short, direct, and fair on both sides.

1. The service

Budget by Dunit ("the Service") is a personal finance tracking app provided by Dunit Technology Group ("we", "us"). The Service helps you log transactions, set budgets, track goals, and get AI-assisted insights about your spending.

The Service is provided as-is. We work hard to keep it running and accurate, but it's a tool for your personal use — not financial advice, not a regulated financial product.

2. Your account

You need a Google account to sign in. You're responsible for keeping your Google credentials safe. If you enable two-factor authentication in the app, you're responsible for keeping your backup codes safe — we cannot recover them for you.

You agree to provide accurate information. Don't impersonate someone else.

3. Acceptable use

Don't:

Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
Use the Service to launder money, evade tax obligations, or commit fraud
Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
Probe the Service for vulnerabilities without our written permission (if you find one, email us at dunittechnology@gmail.com — responsible disclosure is appreciated)
Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the Service at scale
Use the AI Advisor to generate content that violates Anthropic's usage policies

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

4. Plans and billing

The Service offers four plans:

Trial — 14 days of free Pro access on signup, no credit card required
Free — basic features after trial expires
Pro — paid monthly, full features
Premium — paid monthly, Pro features plus AI Advisor enhancements and receipt OCR

Pricing is shown on the upgrade page in your local currency where supported. Payments are processed by Fygaro and renew monthly until cancelled.

Refunds: if you cancel within 7 days of a paid renewal and have not used premium features substantially, contact us for a refund. After 7 days, no refunds — but cancellation stops future billing.

Cancellation: cancel anytime in Settings. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period.

5. Data and content

You own the financial data you enter. We store it to make the app work. See our Privacy Policy for details.

AI Advisor responses are generated by Claude (Anthropic) based on your data and your question. We don't claim these responses as our own intellectual property — they're informational only and shouldn't be taken as professional financial advice.

6. Not financial advice

The Service is a budgeting tool. It is not:

A regulated financial advisor
A bank, investment firm, or money transmitter
A tax preparer
A substitute for professional advice on major financial decisions

The AI Advisor offers observations and suggestions based on your data, but you should consult a qualified professional before making significant financial decisions.

7. Service availability

We aim for high uptime but don't guarantee it. Scheduled maintenance, outages from our hosting provider, or unforeseen events may interrupt access. We're not liable for losses arising from temporary unavailability.

8. Termination

You can delete your account at any time (Settings → Delete account, or email us). We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms after reasonable notice except in cases of severe misuse.

On termination, your data is deleted per our retention schedule (see Privacy Policy).

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dunit Technology Group's liability for any claim arising out of your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We're not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be emailed to registered users. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica. Disputes will be resolved in Jamaican courts unless we mutually agree otherwise.
